The bird and the cricket

A random fairy vision I decided to paint. It is done in inks and watercolours. The scanner settings are something I am going to have to play with because it has washed out the detail and colour in the bird, so this picture may change with editing.

This is a painting I did a while ago based on our trip to Japan. The pond and scenery were there but the figures are fictional.

Dance of Light

I had an image I worked from and painted what I saw and felt rather than copied it, for me it is about the shadows that the light danced around and created. The image was a pose by a friend of mine in a dry creekbed on a warm sunny afternoon in the middle of John Forest National Park.
